Since the God-Emperor of Mankind finished the Age of Strife and set up the Imperium of Man 10,000 years prior, his twenty Primarchs[L1] and children began the Great Crusade to recover each human state which lost during the twist storm in the system. As the pennant of the Imperium was spreading quick, the best child of the EmperorWarmaster Horus, double-crossed his own dad despicably. We consider it the ‘Horus Heresy’ .Half of the Emperor’s Space Marine Legions changed over to the love of the four Chaos Gods. He puts down the blade â€Å"I have no clue, simply go to the Emperor† He says. â€Å"Seriously, sir?† The youngster says with dread all over â€Å"But it has been three weeks since we were caught here† Charles looks at him â€Å"Don’t stress child, our fortifications will come soon, you should reinforce you confidence watch and recall, you are not battling for yourself or whatever else, you are battling for the emperor!†He pivots towards the youthful officer â€Å"On your feet guard!† The fighter snaps to consideration. â€Å"Who are you?†He asks noisily. â€Å"The man of Cadia!† The youngster yells. â€Å"What are you?†He asks once more. â€Å"The Sledgehammer of the ruler and the foundation of the Imperium!†He cries uproariously, with craze all over. â€Å"Correct watch! Keep in mind, we’re the military from the Eye of Terror[L4] and we don't have anything to fear! Presently dismiss!† â€Å"Yes, sir!†The youngster rapidly get his lasgun and gets into his position. Charles glances around ,they are in a modest community in the west province of Chris No.1.Obviously orks have executed all the regular folks before they came, he and his crew has been caught here for three weeks, no reinforcement, no fire support and no fortification. He realizes that if there are still no reinforcement or any gracefully, he and his men will before long be depleted and they will at long last become a major dinner of these damn green half breeds. â€Å"Waaaaagh!!!† â€Å"Orks incoming!!!† A watchman yells. â€Å"Hold your position guards!†He says â€Å"In his name, attack!!!†He puts the orks into seeing his lasgun again and pulls the trigger. â€Å"Boom!!!!†Suddenly, a major blast occurs in the focal point of orks. â€Å"What the h†Then, a mammoth figure intrudes on Charles, he gazes toward the sky, and the sky transforms into dull. â€Å"It’s the ‘Kingfisher ’!†A watch yells energetically. â€Å"Praise the God-Emperor† Charles murmurs. Before long the mammoth figure shows itselfThe Imperial Luna class cruiser ‘Kingfisher ’. With the ground-breaking ordinances on it, the orks are totally wrecked. â€Å"We made it! We made it!†Charles yells energized â€Å"Here are our reinforcements!† â€Å"Yeah!!!!† The last ten gatekeepers burst into cheers. â€Å"All right guards!†Charles stands apart from the shelter â€Å"Let’s battle back!†He yells â€Å"Imperial Guard! Attack!† He holds his cutting apparatus blade and surges towards the green ocean before him â€Å"For the Emperor!!!†The sawtooth of rapid revolution cuts a leader of an ork effectively, with blood sprinkling all over. â€Å"For the Emperor!!!† So enthusiastically did the ten watchmen follow his progression, hold their lasgun and fire frantically. A major shadow shows up from the skyline, it’s the Leman Russ fundamental Battle Tank, with 101st on its protective layer. The 400mm fundamental firearm can slash orks’ bodies effectively, and three overwhelming bolters[L5] on it could decimate everything which sets out to move toward them. At that point, another two Leman Russ Tanks show up. â€Å"It’s a tank squad!† Charles yells energized. At that point, an ever increasing number of tanks show up and after these tanks, there are Armored Fist Squads[L6], Veteran Squads and the best of allâ€the Storm Troopers, with Hellgun[L7] in their grasp. â€Å"Goddamnedhumans!!!!† A thunder accompanies outrage. â€Å"A Warboss!† Charles shouted â€Å"Attention guards!† At that point a major independent rocket fires from the green ocean. â€Å"BOOM!!!† The Leman Russ tank in the front was pulverized in a second. In any case, clearly its’ inconsiderate conduct pulls in an ever increasing number of considerations. A huge number of laser pillars and shots fly towards it. â€Å"Waaaagh!!!!† The ork Warboss covers its’ face with its’ large hand. â€Å"Iwillbe back!!!† Then it pivots and flee rapidly. The remainder of orks can't continue battling anything else without their chief and the watchmen before long clear the territory, send each ork to the damnation. â€Å"Sergeant Charles Morgan!† A commander of The Storm Trooper strolls towards him. â€Å"Sorry man, we’re late, the greenskins from north eased back us down.† â€Å"That’s OK, I’m effectively exceptionally happy that you come.† â€Å"So sergeant, jump on the Chimera[L8] over yonder, let’s back to the boat, somebody needs to see you.† â€Å"Someone? By who? These geenskins? You should kid me!† â€Å"And you should realize that I’m from the Ordo Malleus not the Ordo Xenos, so I’m not responsible for the orks’ business.† â€Å"I know what your identity is, your majesty.† Charles says â€Å"You desired daemons, yet have you even consider what sort of daemon will pick such a poor world?† â€Å"You mean Chris? She’s not poor in fact.† Johnson says. â€Å"Oh, that’s not what I heard of.† Says Charles. â€Å"Then what you think why you are here sergeant?† He asks â€Å"If she is only an ordinary world, for what reason would the instructing room send you folks here?† â€Å"What?† â€Å"I mean it’s pointless to send a Cadian army to an ordinary world, isn’t it?† â€Å"So Chris must be something wrong.† Says Charles. â€Å"And it must be something about Chaos!† Answers Johnson â€Å"Clever sergeant!† â€Å"So why don’t you discover some Space Marines or Adeptus Sororitas[L10]?† Asks Charles. â€Å"Oh~you know what’s the significance of ‘stalk’ sergeant? Kit Carson became widely known in the mid-1800s as a trapper, guide, and frontiersman whose daring exploits thrilled readers and inspired others to venture westward. In the 1840s Carson was being mentioned in newspapers in the East as a noted guide who had lived among the Indians in the region of the Rocky Mountains. After guiding an expedition with John C. Fremont, Carson visited Washington, D.C., in 1847 and was invited to dinner by President James K. Polk. Lengthy accounts of Carons visit to Washington, and accounts of his adventures in the West, were printed widely in newspapers in the summer of 1847. At a time when many Americans were dreaming of heading westward along the Oregon Trail, Carson became something of an inspirational figure. For the next two decades Carson reigned as something of a living symbol of the West. Reports of his travels in the West, and periodic mistaken reports of his death, kept his name in the newspapers. And in the 1850s novels based on his life appeared, making him an American hero in the mold of Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone. When he died in 1868 the Baltimore Sun reported it on page one, and noted that his name has been the synonym of wild adventure and daring to all Americans of the present generation. Early Life Christopher Kit Carson was born in Kentucky on December 24, 1809. His father had been a soldier in the Revolutionary War, and Kit was born the fifth of 10 children in a fairly typical frontier family. During that visit he found himself very popular, as people, especially in the government, wanted to meet the famous frontiersman. After having dinner at the White House, he was eager to return West. By the end of 1848 he was back in Los Angeles. Carson had been commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army, but by 1850 he was back to being a private citizen. For the next decade he was engaged in various pursuits, which included fighting Indians and trying to run a farm in New Mexico. When the Civil War broke out he organized a volunteer infantry company to fight for the Union, though it mostly battled with local Indian tribes. An injury to his neck from a horseback accident in 1860 created a tumor that pressed on his throat, and his condition worsened as the years went on. The settings in the story help my understanding of the theme because it gives me a distinct awareness as to how the social classes play a part in the prohibition of love. The boy lives in a beautiful home that is described to be of a high social class. In the text the home is described as, â€Å"The kitchen was it lively thoroughfare, with servants, food supplies, begging cats and dogs, pots boiling over, washing being damped for ironing, and the big deep-freezer the missus had ordered from town, bearing a crocheted mate and a vase of plastic iris (Clugston, 2010)†. This quote from the text helps me imagine a well-to-do home for the boy. Paulus Eysendyck was the child of the farm owner and Thebedi’s dad worked for Mr. Eysendyck on his farm. Paulus (a white boy) and Thebedi (a black girl) played together and spent much of their youthful days with each other. As time passed they began to grow up and the closeness between the two also grew apart. They both knew that they could not be together openly. All the way through this short story there are many extraordinary consequences. The first takes place when the narrator talks about Paulus going away to school â€Å"This usefully happens at the same time when the author states about the age of twelve or thirteen; so that by the time early adolescence is reached, the black children are making along with the bodily changes common to all, an easy transition to adult forms of address, beginning to call their old playmates missus and baasie little master† (Clugston, 2010). However, the attachment formed between them as children is still there. Both Paulus’ and Thebedi’s parents never forbid them from seeing one another but there was always this unspoken knowledge that they knew it was wrong because they always seemed to be hiding the fact that they did spend a lot of time with one another. An example of this would be when Paulus came home from school and brought Thebedi a gift. â€Å"She told her father the missus had given them to her as a reward for some works she had done-it was true she sometimes was called to help out in the farmhouse. She told the girls in the kraal that she had a sweetheart nobody knew about, tat away, away on another farm, and they giggled, and teased, and admired her. There was a boy in the kraal called Njabulo who said he wished he could have brought her a belt and earrings. † (Clugston, 2010). There’s loss of innocence and forbidden love as described here when Paulus watches Thebedi wade in the water, â€Å"The schoolgirls he went swimming with at dams or pools on neighboring farms wore bikinis but the sight of their dazzling bellies and thighs in the sunlight had never made him feel what he felt now when the girl came up the bank and sat beside him, the drops of water beading off her dark legs the only points of light in the earth–smelling deep shade. † (Clugston, 2010). They were not afraid of one another, they had known one another always; he did with her what he had done that time in the storeroom at the wedding, and this time it was so lovely, so lovely, he was surprised . . . and she was surprised by it, too—he could see in her dark face that was part of the shade, with her big dark eyes, shiny as soft water, watching him attentively: as she had when they used to huddle over their teams of mud oxen, as she had when he told her about detention weekends at school. † (Clugston, 2010). The racialism sets in hard towards the end of this short story when Paulus Eysendyck arrived home from the veterinary college for the holidays. This is where he finds out that the young black girl Thebedi had given birth to a baby. When he finds out about the baby he goes to Thebedi’s hut to see for himself. When he reaches the hut and see’s the baby first hand â€Å"He struggled for a moment with a grimace of tears, anger, and self–pity. She could not put out her hand to him. He said, â€Å"You haven’t been near the house with it? â€Å"’ (Clugston, 2010). By his response when finding out that the two of them had created a life during their prohibited connection shows how he knew that such thing was not accepted in his society. As the story goes on Paulus returned to the hut where Thebedi and the infant child lived; and it states â€Å"She thought she heard small grunts from the hut, the kind of infant grunt that indicates a full stomach, a deep sleep. After a time, long or short she did not know, he came out and walked away with plodding stride (his father’s gait) out of sight, towards his father’s house† (Clugston, 2010). As you read on you get the realization that Paulus killed the infant child that day when he returned to Thebedi’s hut. â€Å"The baby was not fed during the night and although she kept telling Njabulo it was sleeping, he saw for himself in the morning that it was dead. He comforted her with words and caresses. She did not cry but simply sat, staring at the door† (Clugston, 2010). Reading this part of the story tells me that Paulus was very afraid that the community would find out about the relationship between the two and he tries to cover it up as if nothing ever happened between the two of them of which shows you how difficult life must have been back then with the racial discriminations. At the very end of this story the police had dug up the baby and brought charges against Paulus for murder. Thebedi up on the stand said â€Å"She cried hysterically in the witness box, saying yes, yes (the gilt hoop earrings swung in her ears), she saw the accused pouring liquid into the baby’s mouth. She said he had threatened to shoot her if she told anyone† (Clugston, 2010). Over a year had gone by when Thebedi returned to the court house; but this time she told the court that â€Å"she said she had not seen what the white man did in the house† (Clugston, 2010). Nadine Gordimer penetrates the normal life that guards a person from our own evaluation. As an aspect this insight, the writer also pierces the dissimulations of clandestine operatives, those ordinary-looking folk in one’s circle whose real lives are based on active opposition to the police state. Smith’s poem gives the audience an insider’s view into a young black girl’s transition into black woman-hood at a time where both being a black girl and a black woman was not as welcomed. The poem, â€Å"What’s it like to be a Black Girl†, is a look into the mind of a black girl in a society that is fueled with racism and discrimination, both of race and gender. She has been taught to be ashamed of who she is, what she looks like, and where she comes from. She wants her features to look like those who are accepted in society.
